Richard Perry

Richard Perry passed away peacefully on April 10, 2022. Born in Whitehouse Station, his family moved to Newark and eventually settled in Kearny, where he met the love of his life, Karen Ellison. They were wed in 1965. He worked as a machinist at Standard Tool and ACME Tool & Die in Kearny until the late 80s and then formed his own business, Perry Ceramic Tile. He later worked at the Wall Township Board of Education, where he stayed until he retired in 2010. He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albino and Irene Perry, and by his grandson Andrew Jova, whom he loved more than anything else in this world. Andrew's passing led to his involvement with the NJ Sharing Network, where he volunteered for many years. He is survived by his wife, Karen, and his children, Linda Scorsone (Charlie), Jennifer Jova (Paul), and Mark (Kris). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Carley Jova, Charles, Matthew, and Allison Scorsone, and Lia Jova, and his sister Janet DiDonato (Vic). He will also be missed by his faithful beagle, Lucy. Visiting ill be Thursday 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home 2482 Church Rd., Toms River. Funeral services will begin 7:00pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
