Phyllis E. Moran
March 19, 1938 - February 18, 2022
Phyllis Elizabeth Moran, age 83, of Toms River, passed away on February 18, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, before moving to New Jersey 61 years ago. She resided in Brick for 33 years before moving to Greenbriar Woodlands, where she resided for the past 20 years. Her greatest gift was her quiet fortitude. Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Moran for 60 years and is survived by her five children: her daughter Christina Moran-Cobb and her husband Gregg and their son, Dylan and his wife Rachel, and their daughters Sophie and Chloe; her daughter Barbara Strout and her children Ian Strout and Sara Gunther and her husband Greg and their sons Dylan, Spencer, and Colin; her son Michael and his wife Anne; her daughter Lea Gunther, her husband Casey, and their children Jillian and Casey; and her son Raymond Scott and his wife Marilyn. Phyllis graduated from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh with a degree in pharmacy science. She worked at Macys in Toms River for over ten years. However, she considered her greatest job in life to be as a devoted wife, mother to her five children, and most of all, as a loving Nana to her seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She has been the greatest example of quiet strength to her family who feel truly blessed to have had her as our mother and Nana for the time we were given. There will be no public viewing. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 10:30 AM at St Luke’s RC Church, Old Freehold Rd., Toms River, NJ. Entombment will follow at St Joseph Cemetery, Toms River, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
