Michael A. Pollio

Michael Pollio was born on August 26, 1922 in Manhattan, NY to his parents Teresa and Antonio Pollio; both emigrated from Naples and Sorrento Italy. Mike was an exemplary man whose legacy spans decades, historical eras, and countries. He often recalled his early memories of the Great Depression and the impact it had on his Manhattan surroundings. Mike served for four years in WWII, detailing in France, Belgium, and England; after landing in Normandy on June 28, 1945. His stories from his service will remain in his family's hearts forever, as will his love for the country and all who serve. After his time in the military, Mike worked as a computer programmer for General Foods; developing a computerized payroll system for US General Foods. He was an original tech guru. Mike married his beautiful Palma Andretta in 1948. They shared a 73-year love that is unparalleled. They have three daughters, Carol (John) McCann, Nancy (Mark) Bellinger, and Mary (John) Simons. In addition to his bride, three daughters, and sons-in-law, Mike is also survived by his sister Ann (Gerry) Corless, five grandchildren, their spouses, and fifteen great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents and brother Joseph Pollio, preceded in death by (Meagan Gordon). In a life filled with remarkable achievements, Mike's family was his proudest. He was a true gentleman and made everyone feel valued and loved. Mike's mark on this world is one that is overflowing with happiness, laughter, love, peace, and kindness. We are forever grateful that he touched our lives. There will be a small service for immediate family members only.
