Joe worked as a machinist for East Coast Power Systems in Tinton Falls, NJ. He is survived by his long time fiancé Sheri Gates; 3 step children Matthew Gates; Lori Beth Gates, and Michael Gates; 2 sisters Laurie O'Rourke and her husband Jerry, and Vicki Hanson; niece Samantha Hanson; nephews A.J. Hanson and Dalton O'Rourke. Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River is in charge of the arrangements. There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, February 1 at 3:30 PM at Ocean County Memorial Park.
