Joseph Barbarino

July 1, 1941 - January 4, 2022

Joseph Barbarino, 80 years old, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at his home in Toms River. Joseph "Joe" Barbarino was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 1, 1941. He was the youngest of 8 children born to Lena and Joseph Barbarino. Joe loved the beach, music, horses, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, and everything Italian. But it was his family that he adored most of all. He married the love of his life, Kathleen, on April 1, 1972. He was the original "bologna man" selling Boars Head provisions in the early days. Later he would join SDI snacks in Carlstadt New Jersey. He was the sales manager there for 35 years until he retired in 2015. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen and three of his four children: Tracy Hattem (Eli), Michael Barbarino (Judy Levinson), and Tara Lee Wentlejewski (David). His son Joseph Barbarino predeceased him in September 2021. In addition he is survived by his three granddaughters that were lights in his life: Izzy Hattem, Emma Hattem and Romi Barbarino. Joe or "Uncle Joe"is survived by his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins, and friends. We will miss him dearly. Visiting will be Saturday, January 8 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River. Funeral services will begin at 3:30 PM at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
